Very often people ask me, “Kristina, should you get pre approved before getting a realtor or it doesn’t matter?” Well, my answer is always the same – when planning to buy a home, it’s always best to find a mortgage lender first to get pre-approved before working with a realtor.

Doing so makes your realtor as well as the listing agent comfortable about your purchasing power. Starting out this journey with a real estate agent is acceptable, but they will often require you to get pre-approved before looking for homes. Ultimately, obtaining a pre-approval from a lender is essential during the home purchase process.
